Should Phillies sign Johnny Damon and Hideki Matsui?

0

Since the Phillies are in the National League where there is no DH, and the fact that Matsui has two very bad knees, it doesn’t make sense for them to sign him. He will remain in the American League and probably stay with the Yankees. Damon, of course can play the field but the Phillies have a pretty decent outfield already. True, as a left handed hitter playing half the season in Citizen’s Bank Park, it’s likely that Damon would reach a career high in single season home runs but the question is, does he start? If so he would play left because no one is taking away Victorino or Werth’s jobs away from them.
