Should pets (aside from service animals) be allowed in grocery or other stores that sell food items?

I personally wouldn’t like them there. If they were allowed, there would probably be many cases when the animal ate some food, or ran around and ruined everything. Other customers could be allergic to dog or cat hair, etc. or scared of the animal (I myself am NOT a dog person). There are so many potential things that would go wrong and I don’t see a big need for pets to be allowed in the store anyways. So my answer is a NO.
