Four people pulled from the rubble also have life-threatening injuries and a source at the scene said the death toll will rise. It’s not sure how many other people have been injured, but officials said there were “mass casualties.” Some of the injured were treated at the scene. It’s not known how many, if any, were taken to hospitals, although the state’s mass casualty plan was put into effect and hospitals, including St. Raphael’s in New Haven and Yale-New Haven, were told to clear beds for any injured. State police are at the plant with search and rescue dogs, but it appears it has tu

Middletown: Kleen energy Middletown CT, Mmiddletown CT power plant, Connecticut power plant explosion kills dozens. There is fear of dozens of casualties in a power plant in Connecticut. There is fear in the whole area as it took sometime for people to realize that it was not an earthquake but explosion at the under construction fire plant of Kleen Energy Systems. The reason for fire and explosions at the under construction 620 megawatt power plant is not clear. The fire started in the morning of Sunday and police officials say that they received emergency calls from a number of local residents informing them about the blast and the resulting fire. There are so far no definite words and casualties. So far officials have pronounced two people dead and several injured. The injured people are being evacuated to Middlesex Hospital from where people are also being shifted to other hospitals keeping in mind their needs and expertise needed to treat them.
