Should Paul Collingwood consider getting a proper job?

There’s a strange anomaly in that whilst there are vastly increased international schedules and county fixtures, centrally contracted players like Collingwood don’t play in many county games and therefore play less cricket now than their predecessors. However, there is also more pressure on players now, and stress takes its toll, so that could be a factor. But I’m not sure what to think. Plus he both bats, bowls and plays a vital role in the field so that’s got to take it out of him. Players are pampered with physios, psychologists, nutritionists … Of course the big bug bare is that Collingwood plays in the IPL, so if he’s playing too much cricket that’s one month of matches that he could cross of his calender… yeah right! He’s not the only player who rested, but he seems to be getting more flack than the rest. I think his contribution to the team and to the Ashes victory has been greatly under-rated. I was at Cardiff when he batted for hours, gutsing it out, people talk about Jimmy
