Should parents take kids off ADHD disorder medication during school holidays?
I used to work as a camp councellor and some of the kids would show up and they’d be terrorizing everyone. After a couple of days the parents would get a call saying that their kid is going to be sent home if they don’t start to cooperate and the parents would say “he’s like that because we thought it would be good to take him off his ritalin while he was at camp” and then you would give the kid ritalin and it would be an instant change. The moral of the story is: If you plan on taking the kid off medication don’t expect others to deal with the problems that result.
