Should parents be able to enter their kids in beauty pageants?

I would have to say yes. I am not happy about what I see in the movies or in the news for that matter. It is not the kids fault that there parents exploit them but we can not make laws and put them on the books because we want to control the mistakes of parents. Could we make a law stopping them from being silly? What is right or wrong can not be force fed to idiots. They have to learn from their mistakes just like the rest of us. If you make a law to stop parents from doing this then your just one step away from stopping me from playing music on headphones in public places. I think it’s dangerous and stupid but make a law to stop it. No.

“Should they” and “should they be able to” are two different things. I think they should have the right. It’s no different than choosing your kid’s clothes or putting them in any other activity. To prohibit just this is to take away some freedom of choice. I just personally don’t think it’s a good idea to take a little girl, load her up with make up like she’s 25, and put her in some contest that rewards her just for being pretty. I don’t want my daughter to grow up thinking she’s a winner if she’s pretty and she’s a loser if she’s plain.
