Should “paper canvas” with an acrylic painting on it, be framed in glass?

Paintings are often framed with no glass. Looking through glass can distract the viewer. Oil and acrylic are water and dust proof and fairly easy to clean. Rather than painting on paper, let me suggest using wood. You can get a piece cut at the lumber yard or just find an old cabinet door or cutting board. You may want to seal it first with a water based sealer. That also works sealing the painting after it is finished. Several artists I know use wood rather than canvas. Good luck.
