Should Pakistan and India open their borders and work towards better economical and social relationship?
Someday, but not now. Both the Indian Government and the secular leadership of Pakistan have managed to maintain restraint in the growing face of extremism on both sides. If they can continue to maintain any peace, even an uneasy one, then time is on their side. The longer a major war can be put off, the less likely it becomes. Their situation echoes the old Cold War scenario of Mutually Assured Destruction that allowed the USA and the old USSR to eventually normalize relations. It may seem expensive to maintain this isolation, but it is far less expensive than to allow a premature war to become ignited by tiny extremist elements within either country. A secure border minimizes, although is not proof from, the migration of terror cells. Things will not improve until the undereducated and poverty stricken classes in both countires see better living conditions. This will cut into the heart of the supply of young aggressive men who are willing to kill or die for their cause. As it is now
Well if they do open up borders for civilians, it would more be used to transport violent people from each side. You know what I mean. It’s not that Pakistan is the only one that has terrorist or violent people to socity. Even India, there are some people out there in India who do NOT support Muslim people living in India. As i said those numbers are very small. 80% of Pakistanis and Hindustanis want peace. Should not both country get together and over throw the unwanted subjects or suspects if you will. As for the defence thing you mentioned, its all gonna go on as long as we don’t put my opinion in action. If Pakistan buys 16 F-16 from US, India would buy 32. If they buy 32 then Pakistan would go for 40 Raptor-22 Fighters. So, these race is just gonna go on. It’s the common people of the countries who need to put rules and ragulations in action.
