Should Organizational Scorecards undergo a Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) Assessment?
If this were done, I believe that the findings could be very shocking!! In Lean Six Sigma much effort is spent in training Black Belts and Green Belts the importance of having a measurement system so that a consistent and correct decision will be made relative to quality of parts or other assessment. Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and Gage R&R study (Repeatability and Reproducibility) are an integral part of the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Green Belt training. Similarly shouldn’t we expect that individuals who examine a process and report on its performance at the business level have to undergo a measurement systems analysis examination? One would think. Considered the different approaches someone might use to report the performance of a process; e.g., bar chart, pie chart, red-yellow-green scorecard, process capability indices (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk, Cpm), and table of numbers.
