Should OISS be notified of newly admitted international students who are sponsored by agencies other than the University, e.g. Fulbright, AMIDEAST, LASPAU, WHO, etc.?

Absolutely. Although we do not issue the visa documents for such students, we do want to send these students a letter of welcome and information about arriving in New Haven, as well as information about orientation activities and OISS programs. Also we are required by the INS to maintain records on all international students attending Yale. Sponsored students should report to OISS upon arrival at Yale to register their passports and meet with an OISS advisor.
