Wednesday August 27, 2008 As you well know, September 14th is the 8th Annual NYC International Pickle Day, and I’m sure you’ve already made plans to celebrate this great American food holiday. All right, don’t feel bad; I didn’t know there was an International Pickle Day either. But, there is, and it’s hosted, in part, by the NY Food Museum. I can’t believe I’ve missed eight of them! It’s fitting this is held in New York – whenever I think about those famous pastrami sandwiches, I also picture the fat, crisp, dill pickles that are never far away. My father used to make New York-style pickles, and the only thing I can remember, besides how good they were, was how long we had to wait for them to soak in the brine. I just post
