Should middle lane drivers be fined and get points?
Reason why people do it ESPECIALLY on the M1, is people just do not leave adequect space between cars. It makes it VERY difficult to be in lane 1, and pull out when you’ve caught up to a lorry (doing bang on 62 mph!). Once you are in the middle lane, there’s a feeling that if you pull back in to the slow lane that you’ll end up “getting stuck” behind a lorry. (you deal with it, by hanging back from the lorry in front, IGNORING any “pushing from behind”, so you can get a run up to speed, but it’s a B*****! if you’re “up to lane 2 speed” and just about to indicate/pull out, when a fast car from lane 3 which was overtaking a car in lane 2, pulls back into lane 2 (just as you suggest they would HAVE to do!) Would be “nice” if people tried to spot when people were wanting out of lane 1 and let people out to overtake lorries, perhaps hanging on in lane 3 until they’d got past them!) reason against it. is then if you are in lane 2, or even lane 3 (as happens on the M1 from time to time in SOM
