Should men wear makeup when working a red carpet? What about hair styling?
I think men should wear make up when facing the camera esp. when working a red carpet. But the makeup should only be right so that their masculinity would still reveal and they should not look plastic(y). And I do think that blemishes should be covered because people would stare at them and to their pictures. Actors seem to be gods for some so they should look perfect, too.
I think makeup is esssential when you are working the red carpet. What with HD video cameras catching every imperfection, guys need to cover their flaws and enhance their natural features just like women have been doing for years. Here’s a good intro to make-up for men that I found http://hubpages.com/hub/Make-Up-For-Men Here’s a fun Blog that gives some good “Do” and “don’t” pics. So you can see the differences. http://estergoldberg.typepad.com/views_from_a_broad/2010/01/male-stars-and-makeup-on-the-red-carpetsome-do-it-right-and-someomg.html Another good link of guys who wear makeup, so you can see what it looks like http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/gallery/2008/jul/30/men.makeup As far as how to do this? Not sure I can help you there. Unless you can get a response from someone who has actually worked a red carpet, or a Hollywood makeup artist or stylist, trial and error may be your best bet. I can give you a couple tips from when I’ve had to attend or be in weddings and such.
