Organic is presently a big part of the MCAT, the exam pre-med students take as part of the application process for medical school. My gut reaction when I read the title of the blog was to defend the requirement for organic, but upon reading the blog it doesn’t sound like the Association of American Medical Colleges is considering tossing out organic entirely, just maybe replacing the usual second semester with biochemistry. That doesn’t sound like a bad plan to me, especially since most students are advised to take biochem anyway. I think anyone who wants to pursue pharmacology should definitely take organic, plus I
