Should massage therapists get a tip?

General protocol is to tip spa employees for spa services but not for medical work. You are correct, medical massage practitioners should be treated as medical professionals and not be tipped. I am very uncomfortable when a medical client tries to tip me, so I actively discourage it. I wish to be treated as any other medical professional. Find a massage practitioner who has advanced certification in the work you need beyond basic schooling. Avoid the chains like Massage Envy like the plague! They are fine for simple relaxation massage but cannot attract or retain medically trained personnel. The chiro should be able to refer you to a good therapist.
