Should Marijuana be made legal, why or why not?
I am not, nor have I ever been, a consumer of “illegal substances”, not because I have any moral objection, but because I’ve simply chosen to stay away from them for various purposes. I was taught in health class what various drugs do, and what the potential downsides were. That was enough for me to do a cost/benefit analysis and say I just don’t need it. Of all the drugs that we were taught about, and all the ones that have been introduced since, the only one I felt did not have dangers outweighing the perks was marijuana, however, I stayed away from that particular drug for one main reason…the form of delivery. While certainly one could cook some into baked goods or use a vaporizer, both forms which I would consider if I ever chose to partake, the primary method of smoking it entails the inhalation of smoke, and to me, I’ve never understood why someone would intentionally inhale smoke when people die of smoke inhalation.
