Should Marijuana be Legal/Essentially legal or Decriminalized?
I think that not only marijuana, but ALL drugs should be legalized, and I say that as someone who is staunchly anti-drugs, and other than legally prescribed medication (like antibiotics, ointments, etc.) has never and will never use ANY drugs. I’d repeal ALL the drug laws (possession, sale, trafficking, smuggling, etc.) I’d legalize ALL drugs and empty the prisons of everyone convicted of drug crimes. Legalizing drugs will not only eliminate drug crimes, but will also drastically cut down on all drug-related crime and violence. Also releasing drug criminals from custody, will ease prison overcrowding & free up the desperately needed space & resources for the REAL criminals like pedophiles, rapists, murderers, psychopaths & serial killers. The same way that repealing the Prohibition of Alcohol in 1920’s & 1930’s eliminated or reduced all bootlegging related crimes, repealing the drug laws will reduce or eliminate the drug-related crimes People who do drugs will do them – legal or not. Of course “mary jane” should be legal. Let me get this straight; prescription drugs are OK because… they’re legal. The hemp plant and marijuana are gifts from nature. If we used the hemp plant for products, we could get rid of so much plastics and non-biodegradable garbage! Ask and research why we don’t? You’d be surprised. That being said, all things in moderation. You do enough of anything and it will have an effect. There are more people abusing and addicted to prescription drugs than illegal ones! It should be a persons right to do whatever they wish with their own body. Their body is their responsibility. As long as you do not harm another person directly, who cares. It bothers me to no end how people try to impose their ideals on another. I don’t care what you do with your life, it’s your choice not mine. Two drugs above all else should be legal marijuana and mushrooms. These things are natural and have been used since the dawn of time for enlightenment and enjoyment. Much love
