Should local law enforcement enforce federal immigration laws?

0

Ultimately its up to their department’s discretion, but they shouldn’t have to – we already have a F\federal agency whose job is nothing but immigration enforcement. Making the large illegal immigrant community fear and distrust local law enforcement would undermine their larger concerns; controlling crime in the locality. Cooperation with the community is key in law enforcemnt and undermanned rural and city departments don’t have the manpower or time to be immigration cops.
