Should leading politicians be present at Wooton Bassett when UK troops come home?
Well, any citizen is allowed to attend of course including politicians, we do live in a free country, but NO, I don’t think that the politicians should attend at all, simply because I think that when the body is repatriated, the family and friends should be allowed breathing space to grieve without having to look at someone like Gordon Brown, the very person who’s orders sent the person to die in the 1st place. It will cloud an already dignified ceremony with politicians apparently trying to score points. I’m not saying that Griffin was ‘wrong’ to attend either, just that I don’t think it’s ‘appropriate’ for him to attend a dead hero’s homecoming.
