Should laws regarding deportation be amended?
We do deport most of them after they serve their sentences. We pick them up at the prison and take them directly to detention centers. But it is the states’ mandatory sentencing laws (often caused by voter referendums without corresponding tax increases to pay for prison funding) that cause the over-crowding. Expedited Removal of felons quickly follows whether they are released in 20 days, or 20 years.
