Should law enforcement officers carry Tasers in school buildings?
Yes. Safety must be a top priority for our students, staff and law enforcement. Unfortunately, in the society in which we live there is always the possibility of grave danger to our children and staff at schools. Tasers should ONLY be used in situations where such grave danger is at hand. Tasers should not become the quick fix solution to all disciplinary issues. The Board of Education must work with law enforcement to ensure there is proper protocol regarding the use of Tasers in schools in an effort to provide students and staff with the safest educational environment possible.
