Should James Robert Ward really have been charged with murder at all?
A local businessman was charged in the murder of his wife at their tony Isleworth home. Developer James Robert Ward, 61, was charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Diane Elizabeth Ward, Orlando Business Journal broadcast partner Central Florida News 13 reported Tuesday. Ward reportedly called 911 at 7:50 p.m. Monday and told the operator, “I just shot my wife … she’s dead .. She’s on the floor of the master bedroom,” News 13 reported. Deputies said they found Diane Ward with a gunshot wound to the head. She was pronounced dead at 8:23 p.m., News 13 reported. Ward was previously chairman and chief executive officer of Land Resources LLC, a real estate investment company that filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in October 2008 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida.
