Should it be illegal for Her Majestys Royal Mail workers to strike?
I’m a Royal Mail postman, so please allow me to give our side of the story. You’re all entitled to your own opinion, but I’d like to make sure you’re fully informed, so I’d be grateful if you could read this, or at least take some of it in. I realise that its a long wall of text, but I’ve tried to break it down. 1. On our jobs: I and most of my colleagues value our jobs. I am being very sincere about that, especially considering the times. But we might not have one for much longer if action ISN’T taken. I actually value you guys too. I’ve been a postman all my working life, I’ve had many rounds and I know that any deterioration in service will reflect on me. Even if I’ve done nothing myself, and its all down to management decision, the man on the street just sees me and blames me because I’m the only bit of Royal Mail he ever sees.
