I think you’re talking about permanent membership in UN Security Council(UNSC). This is possible only when the existing five members have consensus on that which they don’t want particularly China will never like India to be EQUALLY POWERFUL at that level. Permanent membership gives DICTATORIAL power of veto in UNSC, hindering solution of many problems. USA has used veto power indiscriminately in favour of Israel over 100 times harming hapless Palestinians on their own land Palestine, occupied by OUTSIDERS called Israelis. Thus, UNSC increases injustice more than giving. Iran’s demand over 10 years ago was legitimate when it asked UNO to abolish permanent membership & so, veto power so that UNO is fully democratised. India has UNSC resolution pending on Kashmir issue, the oldest issue in UNO, still unresolved.
