I take it your children live with their other parent and visit you at regularly appointed times. Understand that dogs are very regimented animals. Things that happen to upset their routines can sometimes cause a dog to react negatively. Sadly, this can include being invaded by 4 rambunctious excited, well-meaning and very loving kids. I cannot stress that this is true with ALL DOGS. EVERY DOG…Regardless of breed. This is not a pitbull thing by any stretch of the imagination. That said, do not allow your children to interact with your dog unsupervised. If you had a maltese or beagle I would be telling you this. Do not allow your children to interact with Pittie unsupervised. Period. This means YOU – yes, YOU – keep an eye on your kids – and the dog. Teach them to play gently and politely with Pitty. Never permit the children to play rough with him – or any dog – of any breed. Pitbulls are wonderful family pets. BUT children, by just being children, will play rough, get excited, bounce
