Should I worry about meter or rhythm when writing poetry?

‘Course you have to worry about it… Poetry without rhythm and meter is just scribbling in neat rows! There are no techniques, your words should flow rhythmically without much effort and it isn’t something to be left to editing. You can’t fix a poem that’s already been written without a beat, you’d have to rewrite the whole thing and in the end you’d see how different things would be… While writing it just see if the stanzas go well together, are the same sentence length and if the words tie up with eachother… Somethings just sound good and come from inside. Good luck.
