A Blowtorch is cheaper and very effective but it can be dangerous and it is not suitable in many cases. A Heat Gun / Hot air Gun is useful for small jobs where time is not important. Intricate detailed woodwork is best coated with a liquid or semi-paste chemical as burning can cause damage to fine detail.
