Should I use play-doh, clay, or plasticine?

If you have not worked with the materials, I feel there is only one choice and that is plasticine. Unlike earth clay and paper mache it is not messy. You have control over how it behaves by warming it with your hands and you can stiffen it by cooling. But it easily allows adding on and carving off. Much plasticine is dark green in color, especially the bigger chunks, so to show detail you have to go fairly big. Because of animation, it is available in lighter colors, but it will be harder to find on short notice and I doubt the art teacher has it. The gray clay probably there is dirtier to work but may me more visible. You will have to keep it damp because a large chunk will crack but you don’t have to keep it that long.
