Should I use an artistic sex poem for my first trial lesson teaching literature?

I think it’s fine for the college level. It’s interesting and thought-provoking and definately captures attention. I don’t find it inappropriate at all–it’s artistic and wonderfully written. You said that you are all trainee teachers and I wonder what grades you will be teaching because I think you may want to highlight your ability for that grade level. So it you are going to teach at a high school level, I would choose a poem that you know is in high school texts so that you can highlight your ability to reach that particular age group.
