Specifically, enrollees have inquired if they could drop their current Medigap policy if they were enrolled in the TRICARE Senior Prime program? Our response has been that this is a personal decision, but we have recommended enrollees consider keeping their Medigap plan until the determination was made that TRICARE Senior Prime transition from a demonstration to a permanent program. Our guidance was based on the fact that if the demonstration program was terminated, one might have a difficult time returning to the previous Medigap policy at the same level of premium.
