Should I tip a beauty therapist in the UK?
I’m in the UK too and I often tip my beauty therapist. I believe the ‘going rate’ is probably about 10% though I usually just round this up. I’d say if you’re paying £42.50, as you’re right that is quite an expensive treatment, then just round it up to £45.00. When I have my acrylic nails filled in this costs £17.00 and I usually just give my therapist £20.00 and tell her to keep the change. It might not sound a lot but she always looks really surprised just to receive a tip. Most therapists appreciate that people come in for treatments as a ‘treat’ and don’t generally have loads of cash to just splash around.
