Should i take my 4 yr old son to see superman returns or is he 2 young?
It really depends on your 4 yr old. If he has seen other films like this than it is okay, but I would not be so much concerned about the content with this film but rather the attention span of your son. It is a long film and I think a 4 year old would get bored half way through if not earlier. In terms of violence, it is no more violent than cartoons, language is not bad and there are not any sex scenes. The big thing as mentioned is length and there is a lot of adult dialogue that would likely make a 4 yr old lose interest. I think it is the same with most movies. I took 3 four yr olds to Cars recently and that film had mixed reactions by the kids. One loved it and was captivated throughout. Incidentally he loves playing with cars, but the other 2 could not sit still after 45mins. It was just too long for them to be contained and the information on screen did not engage them enough.
