Should I switch fields and do another science undergrad degree?
A family friend of mine is curently getting his chemical engineering degree (bachelor’s degree) and will go on to medical school focusing on genetics, medicine, vaccines, and biology on the cellular level. He has dealt with the same issues that you describe and it was very important for him to address his depression with medical attention. There is a stigma even today that we hold on to that says unless it’s accompanied by paid or a cough, it must be just in my head and up to me to get over alone – BUT THAT’S WRONG. If you are not getting treatment, please do so. You have a responsibility to your family and loved ones AND YOURSELF to go to the doctor if you’re sick. If you are pregnant you go to a GYN, if you have back pain you go to a neurologist or chiropractor, if you don’t know what you have you go to your regualr M.D. What is different if your symptoms aren’t as tangible as a slipped disc but affect you negatively on a daily basis?
