Should I sue my wireless provider for staining my credit record for no fault of mine?

The wireless company is a victim also. Although it is rather sloppy to report to your credit and damage you prematurely… you have in effect been vitimized twice. Once by the perp and then by their overzealousness. Make sure you keep all the evidence sent to you from your wireless company that shows that you were the victim of fraud. A letter of apology or some statement from them on letterhead would be good. Then write them and ask that they correct your credit report at experian, Equifax, and TransUnion (all three credit reporting agencies). They can fix your report easier than you can. Wait a few weeks then get a free copy of your credit report from all 3 agencies (www.creditreport.com). If the problem hasn’t been corrected then write the ones that have the bad mark still on record and state this is an error in their report (send a copy of your evidence, letter of apology, etc) and they should clean it up.
