Should i stay in residence at the university of guelph?
Residence is a great place to learn how to live on your own, in a relatively controlled enviroment where there are desk staff and other people you can ask for help with whatever you need. It is also a great way to make friends in first year as the only one of our residence halls are for upper year students, so you will be living with all first year students who are in the same boat as you! You can always, apply for a single, which would give you the privacy to lock yourself in your room and study when you want to. Since you are going into biology, I highly recommend choosing the option for a “cluster” on the residence application. That way you will be with first year students who are all science majors and you will all be taking the same chem, bio, physics, and calc courses.
