Should I start packing tonight and move away from this Family ASAP or wait ?
You should have been gone yesterday. It will only get worse. I spent the week before my 18th birthday packing to leave when I was legal age to get away from my dysfunctional family. They caught on the day before when they saw me carry in some empty boxes. I went to work & when I got home, the boxes I had packed were pulled out of the closet & most of my personal belongings were taken out. I was told that anything that was NOT purchased with my own $ was not mine. I had to come back when they were gone & steal my own stuff! I was so mad, that I took a bunch of their stuff too, just for the he// of it. That was the beginning of the end of what could have turned out to be better than it ended up. I didn’t talk to them for over 5 years, then it was one violent holiday dinner after another. Until I had a child, then I had to cut them out until their dying day because of the control issues. It never ends with parents like this. You can’t hold on to your anger forever…it will make you turn
