Should I settle for a Toshiba compatible (not original Toshiba) laptop battery of Hako make or the original?

Keeping the battery in the laptop and the ac adapter hooked up is not what killed that battery. I own a Toshiba Satellite L305D, since Black Friday in 2008. Used it as a desktop. It ran pretty much 24/7 until about 2 months ago (because I built a desktop). I left the battery in and the ac adapter hooked up. Once a month I would just run on the battery till the warning popped up. It always charged back to 100% and if the battery life decreased it was so minimal I did not notice because I kept track. I would just let the computer idle, on high performance setting, till the warning popped up and plug her back in. So I am going with a faulty battery. Now is it just a bad battery or a bad product? You sound gun shy because of your recent experience. Maybe you should go for the factory original. Peace of mind sort of thing. When you store a spare battery do not have it fully charged. Have it at about 40%. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
