Should I run Windows ScanDisk and/or defragment?

You may have errors on your computer s hard drive which may not allow you to install or run programs successfully. You should periodically run Scandisk and Defrag. Scandisk scans your hard drive for errors, reports them, and allows you to fix them, if you so choose. Defrag will defragment your hard drive and store the bits of data found on the hard drive into locations that allow the Operating System and your programs to find them in a more organized and timely manner. Both of these Windows utilities are essential to keep your computer healthy and retain data integrity. You can find these utilities by: Click on “Start” (left mouse click) Click on “Programs” Locate “Accessories”, then “System Tools”, then either “Disk Defragmenter” or “Scandisk”. Follow the on-screen prompts to guide you through their respective processes.
