Should I return my Sharp Aquos 52″ LCD TV?

0

I purchased a Sharp Aquos 52″ LCD TV from Costco about 3 months ago and am unhappy with the picture quality with standard TV signals and ordinary DVDs. I don’t have HDTV programming yet so I can’t tell if I will be happy with the HDTV quality. The HDTV picture in the store didn’t seem too good either, but then, none of the other 52″ TVs looked any better than the Sharp 52″. I know I’m supposed to be using a HD signal to realize the better HD picture but it just seems to me that the regular TV signal and regular DVDs shouldn’t look that bad. My Star Wars DVDs look bad when compared to the picture I see on a 46″ projection TV and a 27″ CRT TV. I know the smaller size may make it look better but the 52″ is almost unacceptable. I’m having a hard time deciding whether or not to return the 52″ and wait for future improvements (if any) that will display ordinary DVDs and TV better than this. I want to try an upconverter but probably won’t be able to get one before my 90 day return window runs
