Should I rent a CAR or travel by BUS to travel Ireland?
If you’re just going between cities like Belfast and Dublin, it’s much easier to take the train. The regular service from Dublin to Belfast leaves Connolly Station, and you’re there in just a couple of hours. A car is useful for travelling the more remote areas in the west. The big car hire companies charge extortionate amounts, but if you investigate fly-drive packages, you might get a good deal. Also look for the less-well known car hire companies, they are in Dublin airport, and are appreciably cheaper than the big names. Petrol (what you call gas) is sold in Ireland by the litre, currently petrol is about €1.06 per litre. There are about 3.5 litres to the gallon. Diesel is a little more expensive.
