Should I rent a car for a 4-day trip in Vegas?
You don’t really need a car. First time in Vegas, you probably won’t leave the strip, and the traffic is a pain with all the construction and dead ends. Most hotels have a shuttle, and taxis are always an option. Just make sure if you take a taxi that you know the route and can tell the driver exactly how to get there. I say this because sometimes you just end up using a taxi and sometimes you get a bad driver. The city bus system is really easy to use, and cheaper than a taxi, too, just do some research beforehand. The “Deuce” bus goes straight up and down the strip, so if you’re going to Fremont Street (Old Strip) or just don’t want to walk from the MGM Grand all the way to Caesar’s Palace, you can just hop on a bus or take the monorail that runs behind the strip on the east side. In any case, be sure to bring comfy shoes. Also, when you get dressed up for a night of clubbing, be sure to stick some little flats in your purse so you can ditch the heels when they start to hurt.
