Should I read William Blattys THE EXORCIST ?
My parents censored what we could watch on T.V.,& “THE EXORCIST”,was a movie I couldn’t watch.However,they never censored which books we read.We were allowed to read any book so I chose”The Exorcist”one summer when I was 13 it must be about 200 pages long,but I did finish it.I was deeply affected by it because it sent the message that if I were Bad,the Devil would get me,& if I was Good,the Devil would get me.It was a win-win situation for the Devil.This gave me nightmares,especially when she did the sex thing with the”Holy” Cross!…When I was old enough to see the movie,I was a little disappointed,because much was left out,it should have been a 3 hour movie.I say go ahead & read it,you might see the story in a whole new,frightening light!!
