Should i read Lovely Bones for summer reading?
Lovely Bones is a wonderfully tragic story about a young girl who is raped and murdered and then tells the story from her perspective and from the perspective of her family members. It is especially heart-touching for anybody with a sister. This is not a graphic smutty book. The “government” does not need to take this out of schools – I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was on a school list to start with. It would not be awkward to talk about as the book does not revolve around sex, but instead the grieving that her family goes through and the mystery of her murder being solved.
