Should I put fathers name on birth certificate?

But the certificate that records your child’s birth is her document, no one else’s. For her sake, have both of her parents’ names on it. The document is about her. If he is expected to have the responsibility of paying child support, he is then considered the legal father and will have the rights of a legal father anyway, whether you put his name on the birth certificate or not, so it’s not about that.
