Should I pay state sales tax on purchases made with my Pcard?
No, state sales tax should never be paid by the University. The University is a tax exempt, state institution. It is the responsibility of the cardholder to inform the merchant that the purchase will be charged to a University of Alabama Purchasing Card and is tax exempt. Be sure and check the receipt to see if tax was charged. If tax appears on the receipt, it must be credited to your Visa Pcard account.
