Should I major in computer science or specifically in video games?
You will have so, so many more options with a BA in computer science. But it is also harder to obtain this degree. It is considered one of the hardest majors. My first major was computer science but I found out quickly that I don’t have the logic that it requires. Computer science majors are definitely a different breed. If you excel in math, then you will probably do fine in computer science. Strong math skills are required. It will also probably be much harder to find a job as a gaming programmer because you won’t have such a wide range of options that computer science would give you. Something else you may consider is that since jobs are not as available for gaming programmers, you will have to move where the job is, whereas with computer science, you could find a job in just about anywhere you WANT to live.
