Should i lift weights to lose weight and get smaller legs?
Hello. I am not sure of your age or sex (male or female). If you are are over 16 years of age and you are in good physical condition (as checked by your doctor), I would suggest you focus on getting lean muscle mass. Lean muscle mass is much denser than fat. It will enable you keep you at your ideal weight and be strong and fit. You can incorporate interval training and resistant training (e.g. weights) into your routine to lose weight. There is no such thing as spot specific weight loss such as getting only smaller legs. You can lose weight in your overall body and get smaller legs. Ideally, try to sprint for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds. Do that 8-10 times. This is a great fat burner and overall physical fitness workout. It burns fat more than regular cardio because of the concept called Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC). There are other interval-type of training you could do on treadmills, elliptical cycles, etc. The key is high intensity for a shorter duration. A
