Should i let my 10 year old brother play rugby?
I was a winger on the Texas A&M University Rugby team, and I got the injuries to prove it. I would recommend that you go to a few practices with him and make sure that the league and the team is legitimate. Alot of young kids will try to fight or get too rough on the field if they have crazy parents. I also recommend a skull cap, it is a lightweight headpiece that can minimize any head injuries. This is a little over zealous, but better safe than sorry. There is kind of an old joke: “I went to a fight and a rugby game broke out!” Don’t worry, that is just a joke, Rugby is really safe if everyone follows the rules in the scrum. Give it a try for one season, it is alot of fun.
