Should i join the irish or british army?
Depends on what you want to do. Bamford1000 is correct in everything he says. The Irish Army is largely just a show force. Because Ireland is not part of the Western Defense establishment it is politically neutral, so it can be used for UN “peace keeping” operations. Other than that it is good for the occasional parade. It wouldn’t last long if the US or the UK or France even invaded…it’s not big enough. The U.S. Marine Corps, by itself, could take it out. As a military force… well I was going to say it does not have a reputation for excellence, but that is very unfair, because as far as I can tell it really doesn’t have a reputation at all as far as I can tell. As far as I can tell it hasn’t ever actually done ANYTHING. As I said, for political reasons the Irish do a lot of Military Observer Missions.
