Should I increase weights for my strength training programme?

0

Strength training and building muscle mass are two different things. If you want endurance and a trim muscular body keep doing what you are doing. High reps low weight. If you want to build serious muscle mass you will have to jack up the weight. Try descending sets. As much weight as you can handle and still get at least 4 reps. When you determine what this weight is, lets say 50 lbs. then load 50 lbs on the bar all in 5 lb. weights. As soon as you do the first reps drop 5 lbs. off and continue doing as many reps as you can without rest until you are down to the last 5 lbs. on the bar.
